Thanks for using Simpli!

The purpose of this document is to describe how we collect, use and handle your information when you use Simpli and your rights with respect to your information. Throughout this document, references to “us”, “our”, “Simpli” refer to Simpli Development Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of the Isle of Man, located at Anglo International House, 2nd floor, Lord Street, Douglas, IM1 4LN, Isle of Man and to our products and services: the Simpli iOS and web applications (“the Services”).

First things first: we value privacy. We are not interested in your information beyond what allows us to provide our Services. We will never sell your information to advertisers or other third parties.

What information we access

Once you download the iOS app or access the web app, you need to log in with your email account from any of the following services: Google, Yahoo, Outlook or IMAP. By logging in with your email account, you allow Simpli access to:

If you have a Dropbox account and the Dropbox application installed on your mobile device, Simpli creates links to files in your Dropbox account, so that you can tag, share or email files from Dropbox; however, Simpli does not access any content in your Dropbox account.

From time to time, we may use the email address(es) you provide when logging in to Simpli to email you about new features or functionalities of the Simpli apps or to ask for feedback so that we can improve our Services. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Simpli allows you to connect multiple email accounts. All the email accounts you add to Simpli are associated; therefore, if you logout from the iOS or web applications and subsequently log back in or if you access Simpli from a different mobile device, you only need to log in to one of the email accounts you added to Simpli and all other email accounts will become available, so you will not need to reconnect all your email accounts that you have previously used in the Simpli app. You can delete an email account at any time from Settings. A deleted email account will no longer be associated with your other email accounts used with Simpli.

Using Simpli:

When you log in or add an account to Simpli, we use OAuth authentication process wherever possible (e.g. for Gmail or Outlook email accounts); this is a secure mechanism which enables us to provide you access to the data in your accounts without letting us know your password. Where OAuth authentication is not available (such as for IMAP email accounts) we keep encrypted the passwords you provide.

When you use our Services, we store your contacts, notes and the content therein, calendars and information therein, lists and their content, reminders and their content, emails, including attachments of the last month and all emails and files attached to emails that are tagged or have notes attached where such tags and notes have been created using the Simpli app. This information is stored so that it is available for you to access and use across devices, via the Simpli iOS and web apps. Your email accounts continue to be managed by your email service provider (Google, Yahoo etc.).

We also keep all communication you send to us, such as feedback, questions and requests regarding our Services.

Access and usage information: When you use our Services, certain information is automatically sent by your browser and this is collected and stored by us. This information includes IP (internet protocol) addresses, the type of browser and version, type of device you use and operating system, the web page you visited before coming to our sites, and identifiers associated with your devices, location, usage analytics, language, cookies, session records and the time and date you accessed our Services.

For technical reasons these data are stored and are not assigned to any identifiable person at any time.

Some information that is relevant to your use, such as user data, may be stored on your mobile device and your computer in the form of cookies. These cookies help improve the experience of using our Services, by remembering things like your username to make your next session log in easier. Also, they help us better understand how you interact with our services which will help us improve them based on such information. You can disable the collection of this data by blocking cookies in your browser settings. However, certain functionality of our Services may be impaired if cookies are disabled.


We strive to protect the security of the information you provide. We use HTTPS encryption (meaning communication over Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) within a connection encrypted by Transport Layer Security) on our web pages where your personal information is required. This is designed to protect the confidentiality of your personal information while it is transmitted over the internet. In addition, we use physical, electronic and administrative safeguards, including advanced firewall and password protection for our databases, which is designed to protect the security of data.

These also make efforts to prevent unauthorized access or changes made to the system and take steps to prevent the disclosure or destruction of data.

We assume no responsibility for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on our Services. In addition, we assume no responsibility whatsoever for any breach or unauthorized access to data or information done via your email service provider or your devices – the sources that Simpli uses to collect and display your information.

In case of any violation of our security system, we will inform you electronically as soon as practically possible and instruct you on the appropriate course of action in order to protect your information.

What we do with your information

We gather, save and process the information as described throughout this document solely for the purpose of providing our Services.

We may also use this information to audit the delivery, quality and proper functionality of our Services, develop new offerings and improve functionality, protect the security of our Services, as well as research usage to identify trends and statistics that we may use in studies, press releases and other such communications.

Some of the information you enter and store while using Simpli will be retained for as long as we need to provide you our Services. If you delete your account, we'll also delete this information. However, they may be some latency in deleting this information from our servers and back-up storage. Also, we may need to retain this information if needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Who accesses the information?

Only the employees, contractors and partners of Simpli have access to your information. They are all bound by confidentiality obligations with respect to your information, and may only access and use it for the purpose of providing, protecting and improving the Services.

Where is your information stored?

For the purpose of providing you our services in a fast and efficient manner, we currently use Hetzner Online GmbH as a provider, on a non-exclusive basis, to store, process and transmit information. Hetzner Online GmbH keeps its data centers within the European Union, which means that your information is stored within the European Union. Some information may also be stored locally on the devices you use to access Simpli.

Your rights

By using Simpli and correspondingly registering with your email account login information (i.e. e-mail address and password), you expressly agree that Simpli processes your information, including your personal data in order to provide you with the Services as described in detail above and throughout this policy, including to protect and to improve our Services. You also expressly agree that Simpli discloses and your personal data to its partners and contractors which are involved in the provisions of the Services and only for the purpose of providing, protecting and improving the Services.

Simpli will process your personal data as long as it is necessary for the purpose of providing, protecting and improving the Services and sometimes thereafter, in accordance with the law.

In case we are involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
